The training of skilled workers in Germany’s dual vocational training system is an important basis for the country’s strong economy as well as low youth unemployment rate. The German dual System, covering both theory and practice, offers an excellent approach to skills development. This combination of theory and practice give apprentices a real head start into their jobs: by the time they have completed their training, they will not only have the required technical knowledge but will also have hands-on experience of their various trades.
Following this approach which has been firmly established in the German educational system, the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Nigeria (AHK Nigeria) seeks provide a platform for stakeholders to strengthen the market for TVET in Nigeria.
To achieve this, AHK Nigeria in cooperation with the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and the German - African Business Association (Afrika-Verein der deutschen Wirtschaft) organized its first Dual Vocational Training Business Summit in Lagos Nigeria. The event hosted about 150 business and political representatives including a business delegation from Germany in different training sectors.

Kehinde Stephen Awoyele and Skill Development for Youth Employment by Hans Ludwig Bruns and other interesting topics.
